Amiya Angel Alfonso

Amiya Angel Alfonso, 11, of Raleigh, NC, passed away Saturday February 10, 2018.  She was born July 5, 2006, in Durham, NC, the daughter of Patricia and Jorge Alfonso.

Amiya attended East Garner Elementary School where she was surrounded by her second family, her classmates (a few of them boyfriends) and teachers that she adored.  Outside of school Amiya loved spending time with her big sister Precious (aka YA-YA), her big brother Mario, listening to music, playing with her many Elmo’s, swimming and relaxing with her parents.

Amiya was a sweet little girl with an infectious smile and loving personality. To know her was to love her.

She is survived by her mother Patricia Alfonso and father Jorge Alfonso, her siblings Precious Alfonso and Mario Skinner Jr., her grandparents Diana Rojas-Marin, Nelly Alfonso and Jorge A. Alfonso. Amiya is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins who loved and adored her.

There will be a private graveside service for immediate family. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Special Olympics or the Hydrocephalus Association.
