Andrew Lee Willis, son of the late Mr. Willie Willis and the late Mrs. Rosetta Melvin Willis was born May 3, 1939 and departed this earthly life, September 24, 2016 at Highsmith Rainey Hospital, Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral, 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2016, Mount Olive A.M.E. Zion Church, Elizabethtown. Burial, church cemetery.
Andrew was a graduate of Bladen Central High School “Class of 1957”. After graduating he moved to New York City and lived there until 1969 when he moved back to North Carolina with his family. He was a Supervisor at Cape Craftsman in Elizabethtown, North Carolina for 21 years and then worked at Barefoot Landing resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina until his retirement in June of 2007.
On December 31, 1958, he was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Ms. Deloris Robinson. Andrew and Deloris were married for 57 wonderful years. They were blessed with three beautiful children from this union. They were soul mates and were always there for each other.
He was preceded in death by: his son, Norman Andrew Willis, his parents, Willie Willis and Rosetta Willis, and his brother, Leroy Johnson.
Andrew leaves to cherish in his loving memories: his wife, Deloris Willis, of the home; his daughter, Cynthia Lynch, of Elizabethtown, NC; his son, Alonzo “Lonnie” Willis (Renee) of Raleigh, NC; his daughter, Debra Martin, of Brooklyn, New York; his son, Eric Martin (Charlotte) of Brooklyn, New York;; his daughter-in-law, Deborah Melvin-Willis of Raleigh, NC; his son-in-law, Antonio Lynch, of Norfolk, VA; his adopted son, Paul Branch of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, Melvin Willis of Long Island, New York; one sister, Cathy Dawson (Michael) of Columbia, Georgia. Two earthly brothers, Dennis Troy of Tar heel, NC and James Lewis of Elizabethtown, NC. He also leaves to cherish his grandchildren, Antoine, Alonzo, Andre, Keisha, Coya, Roland, and his son Eric’s girls; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great grandchildren, and friends.
