George Marvin Buie, Jr.

George Marvin Buie, Jr.,79 passed away June 14, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1937 in Fayetteville.

George owned and operated Buie’s Grocery and Garage for over 25 years. He was also a volunteer fireman for the West Area Fire Department. George was married to the love of his life Jessie Buie for 62 years.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Jessie (Jernigan) Buie; his son George Buie III and his wife, Kerri of Lake Wyile, SC; daughter Denise Daniel of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Sardis Presbyterian Church, 4654 Linden Road; Linden, NC 28356 and visitation will follow the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Sardis Presbyterian Church.
