James Edwin Lawler

James E. Lawler, 72, passed away at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC on September 6, 2016.

He was born on March 20, 1944 in Russellville, Alabama to William and Mattie Lawler. He joined the Army in 1961 and proudly served 20 years as active duty military.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bobbie Bolton, and brothers, Jack and William Lawler.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Kyoko; children, Linda (Alvin) Lawler of Fayetteville, NC, Suzan (Rick) Martin of Greenville, NC, William Lawler, of Raeford, NC, Olivia (Dale) Sandman of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Justin Lawler, Alexis Farrar, Cassidy Lawler, Haylee Williams and Carson Martin; sisters, Carolyn (G.W.) Hillis of Florence, AL, Betty Mitchell of Leighton, AL, and Elaine (Donald) Gandy of Russellville, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family requests that you cheer on his favorite football team. Roll Tide Roll.
