My deep condolences to the Gay/Scheff family on the loss of your precious loved one who fallen asleep in death. May you find a measure of comfort knowing that the Most High God has given us a gift. This gift is God's written word the Bible (2Timothy 3:16 & Psalm 83:18). And in it we get to know how God's son Jesus viewed death in such a comforting way, notice this at John 11:11-14. Yes, he viewed death as one Sleeping.

May you look forward to God's promises being fulfilled at Isaiah 33:24, Isaiah 25:8, John 5:28, 29 and Psalm 37:11 lets us know where the resurrection will take place.

I hope that these few Scriptures were of some comfort to you at this time as they were to me.

In deep sympathy,
Sissy

Hello Scheff Family, I'm a neighbor living in Fayetteville.
Having heard of your most recent loss, I want to leave you a brief post. I too well know, the grief of losing love ones and that at times, it is encouraging just to know that others are thinking about us. Something that has really helped me,to cope with such losses, is the wonderful promise of Christ Jesus, recorded for our comfort at John 5 : 28,29. I hope, that when you are feeling up to it, that you are going to look up these powerful Scriptures, in your copy of The Bible. Also, I hope that this brief note finds The Family feeling as good as can be expected Today.
With Greatest Sympathy, Your Neighbor : P.D.Walker.

In this time of sorrow I like the family to know that am deeply sorry for the loss of your loved one, Mrytle Scheff. The death of our loved ones produces a void in our lives that can not be filled which leaves us brokenhearted. We are comforted by the support and help we receive from family and friends. Even the kind words of strangers may comfort us. More importantly reflecting on the hope for the dead can really provide comfort and help us to face the future with hope. The resurrection hope cushions our loss. It does so because we can look forward to seeing our dead love ones again here on a cleansed heart. The Bible tells us the death will be swallowed up forever and that those asleep in the dust will be restored to life. Do not quickly dismiss this as fantasy. This statement is based on the promises made by our loving Creator who is saddened each time one of mankind dies. He made the provision that mankind could be liberated from sin and death. This provision was the death and resurrection of his own beloved son, Jesus Christ. When you have the time please read of this promise found at John 5:28, Rev. 21:3, 4 and Acts 24:15. These are just a few of the many references to the resurrection of those asleep in death. May this hope comfort the family as it has me. Once again I am sorry for your loss.
