William Bell Wrenn, Sr.

William "Wild Bill" Wrenn, Sr., 72, of Durham, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017 after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer.  He was born March 31, 1945, in Franklin County, NC, the son of Julius Bell and Etta Ernestine (Lassiter) Wreen.

William graduated from Franklinton High School, class of 1964.  Following graduation he served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer in Vietnam.  On August 3, 1969, William married Bunnie Joann Jeffries, who he was married to for 47 years until his death.  Throughout his life, William loved gardening, collecting Indian Artifacts, his loving cat Bill Bill and spending time with his family.  William worked at Tops Petroleum in Wellons Village, Durham for 18 years and never missed a day.

William was predeceased by his parents, Julius & Etta Wrenn, brother Alford Durham, sister Carolyn Wrenn-Durham, grandson Jonathan Lee Wrenn, and great-granddaughter Aubrey Marie Edwards.

William is survived by his beloved wife Bunnie Joann Wrenn of the home, his daughters Deborah Wrenn-Carden and her husband James Buchanan of Moncure, NC, Donna Wrenn Erexson and her husband Lee of Creedmoor, NC, Melissa Wrenn and her husband Billy Langdon of Durham, NC, his sons William Bell Wrenn, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Creedmore, NC, Robert Anthony Wrenn and his wife Jean of Rougemont, NC, and 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, his brothers Tom Wreen and his wife Carolyn of Henderson, NC, Joseph Wrenn of Roxboro, NC, brother-in-law Donald Wayne Durham of Durham, NC and many neices and nephews.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 3pm - 5pm at 3618 Bahama Road, Rougemont, NC 27572.
