Charlotta Leon Anderson

For is as much as it has pleased the Almighty God to remove from our midst our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, relative and friend, Charlotta Thelmean “Cookie” Anderson. Charlotta entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Fayetteville, NC.

Charlotta was born on May 14, 1949 in Queens, NY unto the late Abraham Beckford and Ramona Beckford (Frigaard). She was also preceded in death by her sister, Leah Davis of Yonkers, NY.

Charlotta received her elementary education at St. Joseph Catholic School in New York and then attended the public school system in New York. She received her Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant II credentials and worked in the healthcare field until her health declined.

Charlotta accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mineral, VA and then joined St. John Freewill Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC upon relocating. She was a member of the Sanctuary Choir at St. John.

Charlotta leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, James Edward Anderson of Mineral, VA; her children, Kevin and Tamekia of Fayetteville, NC; three sisters: Jacqueline James of Fayetteville, NC, Sharon Puryear of Bronx, NY and Gwendolyn Puryear of Washington, DC; two brothers: John and Christopher Frigaard of Copenhagen, Denmark; three sister-in-laws; Edna Hackney of Mineral, VA, Wilhelmena Pinner of Brooklyn, NY and Gladys Anderson of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren; Trevacyia Scales of Salisbury. NC, Rakim Anderson of Charlotte, NC, Qwandrea Anderson of Fayetteville, NC and Javion Anderson of Alton, Illinois; adopted mother: Lucille Wallace of Fayetteville, NC; devoted friends: Ruth Dixon and Clarice Bowman of Fayetteville, NC and Hilda Hubbard of Fairmont, NC and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
