Elijah Vines, Jr.

Elijah Vines, Jr., 78, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. 

A U. S. Army veteran, Elijah Vines, Jr., received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.

Elijah was a loving husband and father.  He was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need.  He will be missed by his loved ones and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Vines of Fayetteville; sons, Eddie and Edgar Vines; daughters, Lytrese Booker, Lakeya Walker, and DeAnna Monroe; brother, Sellars Vines; sisters, Bobby Jackson and Mary Chestnut; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral, 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 in Shalom Missionary Baptist Church, 3621 Paseo Blvd., Kansas City, MO.  Interment with military honors, Leavenworth National Cemetery, Fort Leavenworth, KS.  Visitation, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
