Hilda Casado Cartagena, born on February 08, 1931, left us to be with our heavenly father in the early hours of August 19, 2018. She was victim to Alzheimer’s and congestive heart failure. It was a battle hard fought but in the end. She was in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.
Hilda or “La Reina Mas Bella” was the strong matriarch of the Casado family. She was bright, strong and opiniated. She was a fierce protector of the family she loved deeply. She was funny and loved the church, music, dancing, and cooking. She, as many know, was an excellent cook.
She was deeply religious and a faithful servant of the church. Her devotion to the church was instilled and passed on down to her family. In fact, she volunteered much of her time when she was well to the church.
“Bebe” as my Grandfather called her was a loving and devoted wife to Eduardo Casado until the very end of his life. She was heartbroken but continued to stay the strong matriarch that we all loved and will always love.
Although our hearts are breaking and we are sad, we all know that Eduardo and Hilda are together again as they should be. She as he is will always be loved and missed and NEVER forgotten.
“What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” – Helen Keller
