Dr. James Quincy Maultsby was born on April 16, 1968 to the parents of Mr. and Mrs. James L. (2004) and Laura M. Maultsby (2015). He was the oldest of five children born and raised in Queens, New York, in which he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry (1987). He attended school at P.S 147, I.S 59 and later graduated from Springfield High in 1986. After graduating high school James joined the United States Army as a medic. While stationed at Ft. Benning, GA he met and married his first wife Natasha and they gave birth to his only child Quinte’sha in December of 1990.
He received his Bachelors’ degree in 1997 from Columbus State University (Columbus, GA). Later James relocated back to New York to attend medical school at State University of New York (Brooklyn, NY), where he received his Masters’ degree. He worked at Kings County hospital in his home state of New York.
He eventually relocated to North Carolina where he currently had been employed at Womack Hospital. Dr. Maultsby enjoyed reading, good music, and especially spending time with his only grandson. Dr. Maultsby made his transitionfrom Earth on August 6,2018. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his daughter, Quinte’sha Atiya Maultsby and grandson Kenneth (KJ)Ferguson (Nashville, TN); two sisters Dana(Queens, NY) and Dawn (Fayetteville, NC); his brother John (Billyn) (Queens, NY). His nieces and nephew Tyrique, Kahlya, Karmella, Khalie, Kapryya, Cencere, Christian, and Cayden; his uncle Sterling and Godfather Bernie.
Funeral, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Unity Chapel at Cliffdale, 1037 71st School Road, Fayetteville, NC. Burial, Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg. Professional services entrusted to Unity Funeral Services of Fayetteville.
