Marcela Mendez Penton

Marcela Mendez Penton, 65, of Raleigh, North Carolina passed away on June 29, 2017 surrounded by her family in Holly, Springs, North Carolina.  She was born on August 9, 1951, in Havana, Cuba, the daughter of Maria del Carmen Penton Alfonzo and Ramon Mendez.

Throughout her life in Cuba, she was a pharmacist for 25 years.  When she moved to North Carolina in 1995, Marcela became a member of Cary Church of God and in her free time she liked to dance, meet people, cooking, and to party.  She went to several missions in Ecuador.  She loved her family, her friends, and especially loved her grandchildren.

Marcela is survived by her son, Yohan Torres, daughter, Yoslyn Torres, daughter in law, Yasmina Munoz, son in law Andreas Markus, grandchildren; Yohan, Yovanni, Yashmin, brother; Raul Penton (US), and brothers and sisters; Caridad, Daysi, Augusto, Piro, and Tata (Cuba).

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017, 1PM – 4PM, at Cary Church of God located at 107 Quade Drive, Cary, North Carolina 27513 and will be officiated by Pastors Gil & Carol Pagan.
