Cindy Sue (Sterling) Niknam, 61, passed away in the evening of September 2, 2021. Cindy was born August 18, 1960, in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of George A. and Norma J. (Glenn) Sterling.
Cindy graduated from Westland High School, class of 1978. She received her Associate Degree from
Ohio Valley Christian College in West Virginia. She moved back to central Ohio and attended Ohio State
University. Later in life Cindy became a licensed minister and started the church group, Freedom
Fellowship. She volunteered at Darby Creek Metro Park, Ohio Wildlife Center and also taught sign
language at Tolles Career & Technical Center. She loved taking groups of friends to the Renaissance and
Viking Festivals in OH. Cindy enjoyed doing leather work, knitting/crocheting and interior decorating for
herself and others.
Cindy is survived by her three children, Dustin Maguire and wife Stephanie of NC, Nourie Niknam of VA,
and Judah Niknam and fiancé Hayley of OH; one sister, Connie Fullen, one brother, John Sterling, and her
mother Norma Sterling all from OH. She is also survived by her niece Tara (Fullen) and husband
Prashanth Bejai of VA; and nephew Joshua and wife Miranda Fullen of OH.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00-5:00pm, Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the American Legion
Post 283, 7725 Refugee Rd, Pickerington, OH 43147. Gifts in Cindy’s memory are asked to be donated to
the Columbus Zoo or Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park system.
