Eric DeSean Jones, 26, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A blessing from birth, Eric lit up every room he entered with his bright smile and witty humor. He loved people unconditionally and always wanted to ensure the well-being of others. Growing up in North Carolina and Maryland, Eric was a true free spirit. He loved to dance; play football, basketball and run track with the Fayetteville Flyers. Most importantly, he loved being a big and little brother to his siblings. He was a phenomenal cook who enjoyed watching Emeril and cooking for others. Eric was both intellectual and sincere, all while being a fearless confidant.
Extremely gifted, he enjoyed music, had an amazing ear for making beats, and was dedicated to his craft. At eighteen months old he began duplicating beats and rhythms he heard on the radio. Eric unselfishly devoted his time and talents to his church, House of Praise Ministries where he was a drummer. While there, he developed the musical group "The Hebrew Boys" with his Brother Cameron Washington and God-Brother James L. Thomas, III, where they performed his original music at various venues. He established and was the sole founder of Space League Productions, for which he diligently wrote and produced music for various artists. Eric was our creative, brilliant, musical genius. Anything he set his mind to, he did, and everything he set his hands on, was blessed. Eric was a light to everyone and loved by all.
Affectionately known as Nah, and Dahda Boo, Eric was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Celebrating his life are his mother Nairobi, father Eric, devoted (brothers) Timothy Jones and Cameron Washington, (sister) Kirstin Burke, (nephew) Troy Burke, (Great Uncle/God-Father) Yusef Jones, (Aunt) Africa Johnson, (Cousins) Michael Green and Jared Johnson, grand mother Shirley McPhaul, (Aunt) Shanda Stuart, sisters LaToya Outlaw and Ashonti Brown, and a host of loving relatives, and life-long friends.
