Erma Jones Obituary

Erma Lee Jones, was born on June 26, 1945 to Elijah Privott & Minnie Reed. GOD called his daughter on home to GLORY on February 19, 2020.

Erma received her education in Ahoskie, North Carolina were she graduated. She then moved to New York with her sisters where she met & married William Robert Jones.  From that union were born (4) children whom she loved & cherished dearly with all her heart.

Erma was always an avid daughter of Christ. After she & her husband  relocated to Baltimore, Maryland with, she joined the First Charity Baptist Church in 1978 under the late Pastor Turner. She served on the 1st Charity Baptist Senior Choir & the Mass Choir for many years. She was also a participant in many church dinners, functions, & fund raisers. She never faltered in her strong belief in GOD & always believed that Prayer & Praise should always be given to GOD, the Father in the good times & the bad.

Erma started working for the Baltimore City Public School System in 1986 as a volunteer & shortly there after, became a permanent staff member. She loved her job & the people & still checked on them every now & then. She later retired from the school system in 2005.

Erma who was affectionately known as "Granna" to many; always had an "I'll  help you with my last dime" type of spirit about her. If you were in need of a little help, food, money, or just needed a prayer & a hug, she was always willing & most of the time you didn't even have to ask. She loved people & seemed to make people laugh everywhere she went. She enjoyed good conversation & always picked up the phone to many to just say I'm thinking about you & are you okay? Erma's love for everybody will continue to live on in the many lives that she has touched or inspired.

She leaves to carry on her legacy:  husband- William R. Jones (deceased) (3) daughters, Jacqueline Jones, Jennifer Jones, Stephanie Bouldin; (1) son- William C. Jones (deceased);  (3) son-in-laws Eric Bouldin (Stephanie), Michael Bouldin, Joseph Bouldin Jr. ; (1) daughter-in-law Karen Bouldin; (1) sister, Elizabeth Dawson, (1) brother Isaiah Privott (Doreen), (5) sister-in-laws, Doreen Privott (Isiah), Marjorie Carter, Phyllis McNair, Louise Pittman, Caroline Peay; (1) brother-in-law Henry (Aubray) Jones; (6) grandchildren, Jessica Bouldin, Jerrica Bouldin, Erica Bouldin, Erin Bouldin, Daquan Jones, William C. jones Jr.; (2) great-grandchildren, Charity Cosby & Seth Brandon.  Erma also leaves to cherish her legacy, a host of nieces & nephews & other family, & friends (too many to mention by name).  Just know that she truly loved you all.
