Joseph “Bay” Brown was born November 11th 1941 in Tenille, GA to parents Mae Bertha 
Williams and Will Brown Jr. 
During his adult years he moved to Brooklyn, NY and pursued a career as a Telephone Service 
Technician at Bell Communications which later became Verizon.  During his career at Bell and his 
time in Brooklyn, he met Francenia Jenkins, who he would later wed on July 10th 1970.  Joseph 
and Francenia would go on to have 4 children, Michelle, Kevin, Thomas and Jaclyn.   
After retiring from Verizon in the year 2000, Joseph, Francenia and the youngest child Jaclyn 
moved to Fayetteville NC.  In 2018 Joseph was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease.  He 
continued to fight the disease and began dialysis treatments. 
On Thursday February 9th  2023 Joseph lost his fight with kidney disease.  He is survived by his 
loving wife Francenia Brown, children Kevin, Thomas and Jaclyn, grandkids Jasmin, Jaylen, Kayla, 
Brooklyn, Jessie and Raquel and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
