Lidia Rodriguez De Icaza nació el 27 de marzo de 1950, a sus padres America Hidalgo y Guillermo Rodriguez, en Guayaquil, Ecuador. Ella partió con el Señor el 20 de febrero de 2022 en Fayetteville, NC.

Lidia Rodriguez De Icaza was born on March 27, 1950, to parents America Hidalgo and Guillermo Rodriguez, in Guayaquil, Ecuador.  She departed with the Lord on February 20, 2022 in Fayetteville, NC.

 

Lidia dejo su país natal para los Estados Unidos a buscar mejor vida para ella y sus hijos.  Tenía sueños de diseñar y coser ropa. Llego a Nueva York y trabajo como costurera por muchos años. Ahí se reencontró con un amigo de la infancia y se casó.  Ella siempre fue una mujer guerrera y valiente, siempre ayudaba a quien pudiera y lucho para salir adelante.  Lidia era una excelente cocinera, le encantaba cocinar y ver como otros disfrutaban de su talento culinario.

Lidia left her native country to go to the United States to seek a better life for herself and her children.  She had dreams of becoming a clothing designer and make clothing.  She arrived at New York and worked as a seamstress for many years.  There she reconnected with a a childhood friend and got married.  She was always a warrior and courageous woman, always helped whomever she could and strived to move forward. Lidia was an excellent cook, she loved cooking and watching others enjoy her culinary talent.

 

Lidia deja con vida y muchos bellos recuerdos a su esposo, Carlos Icaza; sus seis hijos, Gina Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Jose Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Carlos Quintero, y Karla Icaza; también a sus once nietos y trece bisnietos. También quedan recordándola sus hermanos, Francisco Rodriguez, Zita Durango, Rosa Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Monica Nello, and Sandra Lejeune.  Deja a muchos sobrinos, primos y amigos que son más que familia.

Lidia leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Carlos Icaza; her six children, Gina Martinez, Genaro Martinez, Jose Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Carlos Quintero, y Karla Icaza; also, her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memories her siblings, Francisco Rodrigues, Zita Durango, Rosa Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Monica Nello, and Sandra Lejeune. She leaves many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends that are more than family.
