Marion Waltraud Magnum, born in Kassel, Germany 08-17-1957, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her beautiful soul gained her forever wings Friday morning; May 24th, 2024, as she transitioned peacefully to her mansion, “not made with hands, eternal in the heavens".
Marion was survived by her husband Nicolas Magnum of Fayetteville, NC, son Bjorn Kasper and wife Nicole Kasper of Belmont, NC, daughter Kirsten Magnum of Gastonia, NC, and grandchildren Peyton Kasper, Reagon Kasper, Allycen Kasper, Cooper Kasper, and Jakob Magnum. She was also survived by her sister Waltraud Kechel (husband Siegwulf Kechel, deceased) and brother Wilfred Hahn and wife Edeltraud Hahn and nephew Olaf Kechel, residing in Germany. Marion was preceded in death by her parents Luise M. S. Lieberknecht and husband Heinrich Bade (and Werner Lieberknecht) of Kassel, Germany.
Marion had a huge heart for animals, especially those of the canine variety, leaving behind her five beloved Boston Terriers; Lilly, Lacey, Luke, Benjamin, and Chloe…her first, Lucy, preceding her in death and awaiting her mom on the other end of the Rainbow Bridge.
Besides devoting her life to her four-legged babies, she loved her husband, children, and grandchildren, spending as much time as possible with them at every opportunity. She also loved to read, her favorite author being Stephen King. Her hobbies included riding motorcycles, boating, SCUBA diving, collecting knickknacks, cooking out, and going to the beach whenever she was able, as well as occasional quick escapes to the mountains.
To my beloved wife - you are one of a very small handful of humans deserving of my time and love. You always knew my heart and although right now I cannot find the words, we always knew what we had, and that was always good enough for us…and still is. I love you and you will be missed, your husband Nic.
Mama - my guiding light, my rock, and my number one advocate. You have always showered me with unwavering unconditional love and taught me the value of kindness, perseverance, and compassion. I will always cherish all of my memories of you and your strength and dedication to the ones you loved. I miss you so very much already and my hope lies in the fact that one day I will see you again…until then…dance with the angels, fellowship with Omi and others, and save me a seat. I LOVE YOU!!! Your son, Björn
To my very best friend. Mommy, I love you. Until next time! Fly high! Kirsten
