Mark McHugh Obituary

Mark Christopher "Q" McHugh, 55, of Fayetteville, NC died unexpectedly March 20, 2023 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born December 18, 1967 in Evergreen Park, IL, the son of Patrick McHugh and Louise McHugh.

Mark graduated from Thornridge High School, class of 1986. He served in the U.S. Army. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the McDonough County Democrats. He loved animals especially dogs and enjoyed cooking and all forms of gaming, tabletop, board and computer games.

He was predeceased by his brother, John McHugh. Surviving are his parents of Grand Prairie, TX; brothers Joseph (Peggy) McHugh, of Portage Indiana and Michael McHugh of Grand Prairie, TX and sons - Cameron and Clayton both of DesMoines, IA. He is also survived by his partner - Dixie Canon of Fayetteville, NC, her sons Scott (Latisha) Canon of Belleville, WI and Matthew (Lori) Canon of Wake Forest, NC, granddaughter Abigail Canon of Belleville, WI and his faithful dog, Annabelle.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL or the North Carolina Lions Foundation.
