On August 1, 2022, Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Ann Pennix,72, of Fayetteville, NC, gained her wings while resting peacefully in her home. She was the daughter of the late Hosea and Dorothy Chapman, and was born on September 5, 1949, in Huntington, West Virginia.
Patricia Ann Pennix graduated from South Point High School, in South Point, Ohio, class of 1968. She then attended Marshall University, in Huntington, West Virginia, where she would meet the love of her life, Beverly Tyrone (Buddy) Pennix. They were married in Holy Matrimony on August 13, 1971. This union was blessed with three children, Telisa Pharris, Brandon Pennix, and Theodore (Teddy) Pennix.
Patricia Pennix was a loving, dedicated, and supportive military wife. She was by her husband’s side during his 21 years of service in the United States Army. She created a devoted and comforting home in various places of duty, Ft. Benning, Ga, Germany, Ft. Bliss, TX, Norfolk, VA, Ft. Lewis, Washington, Korea, and Ft. Bragg, NC. Patricia Pennix was a Phlebotomist and Civil Service Member at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg, NC from 1991 until she retired in 2015.
Patricia had a special love for gardening flowers and trees. Her face would light up when sharing wisdom of her green thumb with her family and anyone she would meet.
She enjoyed mentoring about relationships and love. Patricia was strong on encouraging her family and friends about the value of education and the power of knowledge. Her loving heart would take in and give love and support to any child in need. Patricia found so much joy in being an endearing “Nana”. Caring for her grandchildren as they were her greatest treasure. Patricia, loved to sing while listening to the sounds of Mississippi Mass Choir, and finding laughs and relaxation on Facebook.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of husband, children, grandchildren: Husband of 51 years. Beverly Tyrone (Buddy) Pennix, daughter, Telisa Pharris (Raeford, NC), sons, Brandon (Stephanie) Pennix (Parkton,NC), Theodore (SeQuenna) Pennix, (Fayetteville, NC), Special Son De’Angelo Weeks (Tuscon, AZ), Special daughter, Latoya Mathis(Fayetteville, NC). 10 Grandchildren: Chandler Pharris, ShyAnne’ Clark, ShayShunte’ Clark, Jayden Pennix, Skyler Townsend, Jeremiah Weeks, Seth-Elijah Pennix, Jhianna Mathis, Jordan Bryant, and Jurnei Autry; sister Eraina Chapman (Charleston, WV), brothers, Hosea (Amy) Chapman Jr. ( South Point, OH), Vincent Chapman (South Point, OH), sister-n-laws, Debra Pennix (Beckley, WV), Tonya (Timothy) Ferguson(Virginia Beach, VA); a host of devoted nieces in nephews, cousins and friends. Two very special and dear friends, Cassandra (Cassie) Goler and Etta Townsend.
