Norman Roger Williams, Jr.

Norman Roger Williams Jr., 58, was born on November 12, 1956, in Maryland to the late Norman Roger Williams Sr. and the late Ruby Williams, which both preceded him in death.  He passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, in his sleep at home.

Norman graduated from high school and enlisted in the Army. While enlisted he met and married the love of his life, Monica.  Along with their two children, Shawn and Monique, they were able to travel to Germany where they met lifelong friends.  After 18 years of faithful service, Norman retired from the U.S. ARMY in 1994.

After retiring from the military, Norman, always prided himself with keeping himself educated. He obtained his Plumbing Certification, Basic EMT Certification and Truck Driving CDL’s. He truly loved driving the big rig and being a part of the trucker world.  When he was home, you could find him spending his time with his grandchildren, riding bikes, or going out for fun.

Norman leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Monica (Evans) Williams, two children, Shawn Evans (Renee’) of Fayetteville; Monique Williams of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Eric Shaw Jr., Jayden Robinson and Aniya Williams; one sister, Gloria McField of Fayetteville; one brother-in-law, Michael Evans of Washington, DC;  and sister-in-law, Chiquita Melvin (Alonzo) of Fayetteville.  He was preceded in death by another sister-in-law, Tzena McKinnon.  He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

Funeral, 12:45 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 in Ambassadors for Jesus Christ, 110 Cude Street, Fayetteville.  Interment with full military honors, Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd., Fort Bragg.  Visitation, 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
